Travis McLain is a game designer working in Foster City, CA
Travis was born in Rochester, New York and grew up there until he was 7. He then moved to Delray Beach, Florida and lived there until moving to Los Angeles for college.
He graduated with a BA in Interactive Media from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. While at USC, Travis worked on several year long student projects: Paradox Shift, Blink, and Scrapyard. He was also president of the student organization MEGA (Makers of Entertaining Games Association.)
Travis interned at Industrial Toys for a year during school before working there full time as a Game Designer on the company’s first project: Midnight Star. He had various game design responsibilities including encounter design, systems design, and AI design. Travis then worked with various start-ups on VR projects before starting a contract with Microsoft to work on the canceled title Scalebound. He then moved to Undead Labs to create the opening missions for State of Decay 2. After shipping State of Decay 2, Travis moved to Probably Monsters to work on an unannounced project and develop a custom AI system for crafting intelligent, engaging combatants. Travis is currently at 31st Union working on their upcoming game.
